photo 45When you’re 7 months old you have it pretty rough:

sleeping 20 hours a day…playing…eating…sounds like me during my first 1 1/2 years of college (don’t think too hard about what happened to the 2nd 1/2 of that year).

The growth of a child is nothing short of amazing.  Training him to sit up and watching him constantly fall over.  Then a few days later, he just sits there without falling photo 47over as easily, bending all the way forward and sucking on his toes.  If I could do that I’d never leave the house, and maybe join the circus.

He is now relating to us, playing with us, crying with that sly look in his eye, thinking to himself “these chumps will pick me up if I take this up a notch…”  And the chumps do…for now.

One day while feeding him he felt the need to raise his right arm up in the air for the entire 20 minutes.  Why?  We have no idea.  He did that for 3 nights, stopped and hasn’t done it since.  Why?  We have no idea.  Although now, he reaches into our mouths and plays with our teeth, then puts the Vulcan death grip on our bottom lips, then pulls.  It feels…great.

Another weird little thing he started doing is taking his top lip and puckering it forward over his bottom lip, kind of looking like a baby Simpson’s character. And yes, this lasted a few days and he now does this rarely.

He started on some solid food a couple weeks ago.  We give him the Forrest Gump special:  peas and carrots (with an occasional sweet potato)

He’s learning to take comfort in his first little doggy blanket

And he really, really, really loves his Umma.  Laser-eyed on her wherever she goes.

And for the first time in 7 months we took pictures together as a family.  I cannot believe how much the good Lord has blessed us with.

Next month, the helmet comes off…hopefully.  Happy 7 months Peter!

  • Danna DanoskiHaven’t seen any posts lately, Ryan. I wanted to see a current picture of Petey.
Just got home from a visit with your cousin, Joe. I love to spend time with them and see the continual changes in Benny. It is so easy to fall in love with the grandchildren. Your mom has had a lot more experience than I have, but what a treasure to behold! I hope all is well. ????August 23, 2015 – 10:50 pmReplyCancel
