Nothing like a December wedding, followed by an immediate trip to an all-inclusive resort located on the turqois waters and white sand beaches of the Dominican Republic. While we enjoyed 87 degrees, sunshine, a steady island breeze and a candlelight Christmas dinner for two on the beach, back home our friends and family were living it up in the 13 degree air and snowstorms. I’m trying to think of a word to describe how it felt getting off the plane at O’Hare and re-entering the dark, cold days of Chicago winter life. I think the word “sucked” came to mind.
1 Corinthians 2:9 says “But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him”. If the beauty of the Carribean isn’t even on the same wavelength as what our Heavenly Father has for those who believe in His Son, I can’t wait to get there.
“What must I do to perform the works of God?” Jesus answered them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent”. (John 6:28-29)
Come soon, Lord!
