Heather and I spent a late summer day with John, Dana and the boys at the Chicago Botanic Gardens in Glencoe. I had never been to the Gardens before or had any interest in going, but I have to say, this place was AMAZING. You are presented with so many options: walk around, sit and read, paint, take pictures, ride a bike, or, like one lady who was walking in when we were walking out, get a bucket of extra-crispy KFC and a blanket and do your thang. People watching is an option as well. Heather and I played a couple games of “Dude or Chick?” which is always interesting. Regardless, it was a beautiful day to spend admiring creation, spending time with family and cherishing time spent with Nathan and Lucas. The simple things in life are often the best things in life. Our God rocks.
